Responsible for
maintaining policies and procedures applicable to the financial operations of
the plant in the areas of Data Processing, Cost Standards, expense budgets,
profit planning, forecasting and capital appropriations.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
§ Support
safety programs for the plant (i.e. capital for ergonomic improvements, etc)
§ Coordinates
the activities of the plant in the areas of accounting costs and budgets
through the review of the operations and the criteria used for developing cost
standards and expense budgets to establish an acceptable base for measuring
product cost, expense control and plant performance.
§ Responsible
for the setting up and supervision of the reporting system, so that an accurate
profit and loss statement can be submitted for each month’s business by the established
deadlines.
§ Revises
performance records, anticipates sales and cost to develop business forecasts
and the annual profit plan for planning purposes.
§ Facilitates
the monthly closing by reviewing accounting data and computer runs for accuracy
in order that the closing can be performed on a timely basis.
§ Coordinates
the taking of quarterly and year-end physical inventory to assure accurate
ending inventories balance.
§ Prepares
appropriation requests and the justification of it for capital expenditures to
ensure that the funds are being requested in accordance with corporate
guidelines.
§ Responsible
for ensuring that all-governmental reports are completed and submitted in a
timely manner.
§ Responsible
for maintaining the accuracy of all balance sheet accounts by ensuring that
account reconciliations are completed monthly/quarterly as required by company
policy and SOX.
§ Coordinates
all activities, as directed by Operations Controller, related to year-end audit
requirements regarding timing and completion as they pertain to the plant.
§ Coordinates
and resolves accounting department problems and disputes regarding systems,
procedures or cost centers.
§ Acts
as a key contributor in the plant’s Continuous Improvement process, including
identification/quantification of projects and review/verification/reporting of
related cost savings.
§ Recommends
or approves all promotions, demotions and transfers within the accounting
department.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or equivalent.
Six to eight years accounting experience and financial
experience with emphasis in cost accounting and budgets.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, blueprints and procedure manuals.
Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units
of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Candidate has the ability to compute rate,
ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Candidate has the ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate
software programs. Candidate has the
ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management
of the Environmental Management System.
Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills
or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.
